So far I'm having a very good break. Work was a little slow working remotely since I'm mainly waiting on Andrew to give me some code, but it was nice relaxing and even doing other things while working for a change.
So I feel very lucky overall. When I was driving home to my parent's house, I tuned in to 105.7. They happened to be advertising their new Bid 2 Buy system which is pretty much eBay. One of the things they mentioned was the DefTech ProCinema 600 system. I checked the price when I got home and it was only $200, a savings of 75%. Now I wasn't going to purchase a speaker system until like February, but I couldn't pass up this deal. The auction came and passed, and not a single other person bid on it, so I was able to buy it at it's incredible price. When I went to pick it up, the only bad thing I noticed is that the speakers are actually white as opposed to black. At first kind of a disappointment, but I think I'll get used to it, especially for the deal I got. Since these are DefTechs I know they should be good. It's a little underpowered and small, but for an entry system, it's great. Especially when you consider that I can always move the left and rights to satellites to create a 7.1 system in the future. Maybe I'll buy a good Mythos speaker to complement them. The only bad thing about the deal is that now to use them I've been searching for a good receiver and stands to put them on. I've been looking at the Sony 920 receiver, and it seems good since the Onkyo might not work with my PS3. For the stands, I've been debating purchasing the official DefTech stands. Quite expensive and overpriced, but they'll fit good and match. I can even get them in white to match. I hope I have space for all these speakers on my TV stand.
While I was home here I also was able to catch Bottle Rocket. I'm not a huge fan of Wes Anderson movies. I find them quirky and sometimes funny, but usually not enough for me to love or so, but often like them enough for me to keep coming back. I think this describes perfectly what I feel towards Bottle Rocket. Quirky, sometimes funny, kinda slow. I liked it, and feel it was probably one of his that I enjoyed the most. But that's not saying much.
