Mongol

Quite the lazy weekend for me. I was going to go down to NYC for shopping and holiday cheer, but decided against it. I didn't want it to be a wasted trip or go down without a real purpose. In addition, I may have wanted to come home sooner with it being rather cold. Instead I was pretty lazy and caught up on a couple things. I did watch a lot more It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and started playing Assassin's Creed. Initial impression is a gorgeous game, but I can see it getting repetitive.

I also watched the movie Mongol. My initial impression was that I was surprised at the architecture in the game. Some of the initial scenes showed buildings ripped right out of Assassin's Creed (which i found very cool since I was just playing it before watching it). I'm a little unsure if this is accurate or not. The places could of had similar buildings, but they are very far apart from one another. Assassin's Creed being around Jerusalem and Mongol being in the Mongolia/China area. As for the movie, I thought it was pretty good. It really did a good job at humanizing Genghis Khan. I wonder how much is factual. I felt bad on most occasions for his wife though. Not sure if that was the desired effect. The movie was good, but I didn't find it very memorable. There was talk of 1-2 more being made by this director, so I'll just have to wait and see.
